Medical Counseling 2019 – All details of reservations, seats, and rounds as per rankings of students and the fees structure
Medical counseling for students will commence from tomorrow at Chennai. It is conducted by DMET or the Directorate of Medical Education and Training for the state quota of 2447 seats in Government Medical Colleges. It also covers the allocation of the 1500 MBBS seats from management quota of private colleges.
It is also for the 85 Government BDS seats and 900 BDS seats of Management quota. In the previous two articles, the venue and the document of verification were given in detail.

What is the procedure of document verification for counseling?
After successful document verification at the venue, the students have to log in using the required credentials to fill in the preferences of colleges along with the courses.
The admission to the colleges is squarely based on these preferences, and hence, it is essential to provide as many choices as possible. Download the call letter from the link provided by the DMET.
It is the guide that will provide all the information of the time and date of your counseling. After the counseling is over the allotment result will be announced on 18th July 2019. The students have to report to their allotted colleges in time for a prosperous medical career.
What is the percentage of reservation categories in the seat allotment of medical counseling?
The following table will illustrate the reservation in percentage for the different categories by caste and physically handicapped in Government colleges. In private colleges, both the MBBS and the BDS seats are equally divided between the Government and management quota.

What are the rounds as per the ranks of the students in the merit list:
It is vital that the students attend counseling in the first phase itself. If they fail to appear in the first phase, they will not be allowed to take part in the counseling later.
For this purpose, the following table will illustrate the timing and dates of the rounds after the successful document verification by students with GR or General Rankings.

All the students should produce a demand draft of Rs. 500/- favoring Directorate of Medical Education & Training as entrance fee for counseling at the Attendance Counter.
The second draft of tuition fee as per the category should be handed over in the Main counter.
The tuition fee structure for Government MBBS & BDS are given below:
- For OC, BC, MBC, and BCM the tuition fees for MBBS is Rs. 13,610
- For SC. SCT. SA it is Rs. 9610
- For OC, BC, MBC, and BCM the tuition fees for BDS is Rs. 11,610
- For SC, SCT, and SA, it is Rs. 9,610
- For all categories to self-financing colleges allotment have to pay Rs. 25,000/-
- Once they have paid and not opting for the college will result in the Rs.25000/- not refunded by the authorities.
